9M Initiative planning!!

WHAT IS THE EVENT ABOUT?
On the occasion of 9th May, Europe Day, and because this is the year of European Citizens, we are planning to make a meeting of European Citizens in our city, Ciudad Real.

It will be a simple tribute to citizenship and it will have multidisciplinary:

• On one hand it will be a conference where some of the most representatives articles from Charter of Fundamental Rights of the EU  related to citizenship and the values that inspire the European Union.

• It will also be an exposition (photographs and historic videos, scientific achievements divulgation, the euro, etc.)

• It will feature musical interpretations, some of them will have voice and/or dances, of some very well known "hymns" in Europe (Europe's original hymn; "Te Deum", used as a base for Eurovision's main theme y and UEFA Champions League's hymn).

• It will also feature poetry reading, where some European citizens who live and/or work in Ciudad Real will read in their mother toungue (English, Irish, French, Dutch and Italian people) and will tell how was their experience of living in Spain, their personal enrichment that they had, their relationship with Spanish and their yearning of the land they left years ago. They will also tell what represents for them the text they chose to read (they will also read in Spanish these poems, or maybe one of them, so all the audience can understand them).

• Likewise, we will contact with Spanish who work or study in other countries of the EU via hangout (Google+) and will show us their experience and their integration with European societies.

• Se presentará la Agenda Juvenil Europea que hemos elaborado dirigida a estudiantes de Secundaria y Universidad: La Agenda Juvenil Europea en su primera versión va dirigida a estudiantes españoles y europeos con conocimiento de español, pero con vistas a que pueda ser leída por ciudadanos europeos de otras nacionalidades (ingleses y franceses fundamentalmente). Pensamos que la Agenda Juvenil Europea puede ser un vehículo permanente para mantener en el tiempo la conciencia de ciudadanía europea más allá de la semana del 9 de Mayo.

• Por último, tendrá carácter festivo porque terminaremos interpretando a coro el tema de M. Ríos “United”, basado en la melodía del “Te Deum” (himno de Eurovisión), así como el tema de Rosa, nuestra representante en Eurovisión hace unos años, “Europe's living a celebration” con la consiguiente suelta de globos azules y amarillos.

¿DÓNDE?
Puestos en contacto con un responsable del Centro Europe Direct de nuestra ciudad, le explicamos nuestra necesidad de encontrar un salón amplio donde celebrar este encuentro de ciudadanos. El Centro, dependiente del Ayuntamiento de Ciudad Real, inmediatamente nos ofreció una de las salas que utilizan para eventos similares y es allí donde tendrá lugar nuestra celebración:

¿CÓMO LO VAMOS A DIFUNDIR?

• Por un lado, el centro Europe Direct de Ciudad Real convocará a la prensa (Tribuna y Lanza) y TV locales (CR TV) y, por otro lado, nuestro Centro realizará otra nota de prensa acerca del acto que tendrá lugar en el salón de actos del Centro Europe Direct Ciudad Real.
• Además el evento figura en nuestro blog y desde Twitter, Facebook y Google+ se puede acceder al blog. 
• Otro medio de difusión ha sido a través de las familias de nuestros compañeros que, lo han dado a conocer entre familiares y amigos.
• La celebración del día de Europa la conocerán también fuera de España, porque los españoles que residen en Europa con los que contactaremos durante el acto lo han comunicado a sus amigos europeos que intentarán estar presentes durante el handg-out.
• Por último hemos realizado una Agenda Juvenil Europea que nos parece un medio de transmisión  excelente entre la ciudadanía de valores de la Unión Europea, y que se extiende más allá del día 9 de mayo.
